Is this dinghy davit
hard to install?
This one is hard to answer as I have no idea of your skill
level. More than half of our customers do self install, and most
of them find it a relatively easy task. If you have a friend
that can help you (some things that require lifting or holding
things in position are hard to do by yourself), it is very
doable and saves you countless dollars. The hardest part is
attaching the dinghy to the swim platform, after that it is
simple. Is it worth saving $1500 To $2500; professional installation
usually runs between those two figures.
Can I purchase this dinghy lift system from a dealer?
No, we went to sales on the web site because this allowed
us to get the system to you at a reasonable price. Costs of
going to boat shows and dealer markups would otherwise be factored
into the sales price. This gives you the best system on the
market for hundreds or thousands less than any competitive
product.
What is your warranty?
Check out our warranty, it is
simple and complete. If you are not satisfied, send it back
within 90 days of shipping and get your money back.
Does this dinghy storage system work for sailboats?
I hope some day to be able to say yes, but as of now, we have
not worked out all the problems for sailboats.
Can I buy just part of this davit lift system?
In the early years of the program we tried with several customers
who were sure they could make it work for them. It was not
a successful experiment. All parts of the system are made to
work together and compliment each other in ways that are not
always obvious, therefore, we DO NOT sell “parts” of
the system.
Do you have a list of installers if we choose not top self
install?
We have some that are listed on the installation page, if
you use an installer and are happy with the work that they
have done, please send us that information so we can add them
to the list.
Will the Dinghy Dumper work with dinghies having interior seats
and steering devices?
The problem, if it exists, is weight. We do not recommend
the Dinghy Dumper for dinghies with weights over 400 pounds. (By this
we mean combined weights of dinghy and outboard).
What is the largest outboard that can be used?
Again, it is more dependent on weight than HP. Currently we
have 25 HP outboards being used.
We deal primarily with 9 through 12 foot dinghies, we suggest
you stay within the HP recommendations that come with the dinghy.
Over powering can be dangerous.
