Every
installation is unique in some respects, either the yachts
are of a different configuration or the owners wishes for
the installation are different. There are many essential
elements that are the same however, and that is what this
section is meant to convey.
Should every boater self install? Probably
not but more than half of my customers do the job themselves.
A complete set of instructions, with pictures, will arrive
in the box with your Dinghy dumper. If it takes a day or
two and saves you $1500 to $2500., is it worth it? It would
be to me.
We use the
Weaver Davits as part of our system. When you order, the Weaver
Davits will arrive first as the dinghy must be attached to
the swim platform before the rest of the installation can be
completed. You can do this while your Dinghy Dumper is being
built and in transit. Believe it or not, this is by far the
hardest part of the installation, when this part is completed
the rest is easy.
Brace for Inflatables
We include the Weaver Arc (rear arc) with all orders for
inflatables. This is a brace that takes all the weight and
pressure off the pontoon. If your dinghy and motor weigh
300lbs or more we also include the front Weaver Arc that
attaches to the floor of the dinghy. (these can be viewed
on the Weaver web site at www.weaverindustries.com.) The
Weaver davits and arcs necessary for your installation are
included in the sales price of the dinghy Dumper.
Swim Platform on Yacht
The Dinghy Dumper requires a minimum of 24 inches of swim
platform (measured front to back), if your system requires
the extended motor mounts, it will require require a minimum
of 28 inches. If your swim platform does not have these minimums,
it will be necessary to include the Swim Platform Extenders
(these are not included in the standard price.)
The Motor Mount
There are 12 different configurations for the motor mount.
We determine which one is right for your dinghy, outboard
and yacht and that is the one you receive with your order.
They all work as shown in the videos.
Installers
Who Have Been Recommended By DD Customers
Although many Dinghy Dumper
purchasers do their own installation, many of you choose to
find a qualified installer. These are installers who have proven
to be competent and fair in their work and pricing. If
you have had your Dinghy Dumper installed by professionals
and are pleased with the result, please send me information
so that I may add their name to the list.
